What are Cub Scouts?

Cub Scouts is the second section of the Scouting journey, for young people aged 8 to 11. Our Tarralla pack meets weekly for hands-on activities that build independence, curiosity, and teamwork.

Cubs create their own paths, developing a sense of place as they explore the world around them through games, bushcraft, cooking, canoeing, and rope-tying.

  • Bushcraft, cooking, and outdoor skills
  • Weekend camps with exciting themes (Space Odyssey, Pirates)
  • Games, canoeing, and rope-tying
  • Building independence and resilience
  • Neighbourhood Watch badge (Victoria Police designed)

The pinnacle event for Cub Scouts is Cuboree — a five-day adventure at Gilwell Park with thousands of Cubs from across Victoria. Themed activities, wide games, and unforgettable memories.

Cubs earn badges across a range of competencies, from outdoor skills to community service. The peak achievement is the Grey Wolf Award.
